Day 24~ X is for Xenon

Yes, x is for xenon. For those who don't know,  Xenon (Xe) is an element on the periodic table, with an atomic number of 54, and is one of the noble gases. In science, we are learning about atoms and atomic stucture. Today, we had to color in the different groups of the periodic table. I asked my friend for a green colored pencil. She handed me the pencil, titled "Peacock Green". Yeah, it turns out that peacock green, really isn't green, it's more of a blue-green, not quite turquoise, but not quite blue.

My science SOL is in about three weeks, and I'm kind of nervous, due to the fact that the science SOL isn't just about the stuff we learn in eighth grade. It's also on everything we learned in sixth and seventh grade. I'm going to need to hit the books soon! Has anyone ever had a test they were nervous about? Day 20~ T is for Toddler Time

Tomorrow in FACS class (family and consumer science) we get to take care of toddlers, ages two to
five, for an hour and a half. I have no hope for my group. My teacher put me in the game group, which means my group is in charge of the game we are going to play with the toddlers. That would be awesome and fun and all, except for the fact the I got made the leader of the group and the group is made of all annoying boys who have no manners and act up in class. I don't even have another girl in my group! Since I'm the leader, it means I'm responsible for all the work my group needs to get done, but the rest of my group, the annoying stupid boys, talk all class and joke around, and leave me to do all the work. And get this, when I don't have everything done by the end of class because I'm trying to do the work of four people, they get all mad at me and tell me that I'm the leader so I need to get anything done. But they won't listen or help, and they think that they can tell me I'm not doing a good job. If they screw something up tomorrow I'm going to lose it. I've tried everything except yelling at them because I'm not allowed to yell in class. Even my teacher thinks they are annoying and won't listen, because when I asked her for help she told me to do my best and hope for the best.

Day 18~ R is for Receiving Awards

Sorry for the late update, but I couldn't post it until today. You see, my civics teacher made our class
enter an essay contest about patriotism. At the time I didn't think much of it. About a month after I entered my essay in the contest, I got a letter addressed to me from a name I didn't recognize. I had my mom open it and read it. As she read the look on her face was one of curiousness. When I asked her if I could read it, she looked up at me with a glint in her eye. As I looked at it, my face lit up. I had won the essay contest for the county, and later, I found out that I had won all of my district, which is pretty big; Just saying ;) However my essay lost at the state level.

Today was the award ceremony for school, and the representative from the contest came and gave me my awards. He had a really big mustache, but he seemed pretty cool. I won $150 for winning the county and I won $250 for winning the district. However, I didn't know until I received it, that I had won the $250 dollars, I only knew about the $150. That was a huge surprise. I still have no idea what I'm going to spend my $400 dollars on. If you guys have any ideas put them down in the comments. Day 14~ N is for No Luvin' Girls Club

So, my brother (10 years old) and two of my boy "cousins" (they are really close family friends--6, and 4 years old) came up to me and my family one day when they were visiting and announced that they had made a club.  When asked what the club was they replied very nonchalantly, "It's the no luvin' girls club". 

You should probably know that all three of them think love is the grossest thing ever.  Seriously, you know when Han kissed Leia in Return of the Jedi?  All three of them hid under the blankets and chorus, "Ewwwwww! Grooooooss!" while everyone else was going, "Awwwww."

So anyway, we asked them what the rules of the club were. They were;
~You can't love girls
~No being friends with girls
~All girls will be referred to as gross and weird

Yeah, so my brother and my "cousins" are a little insane.  When my brother brings home a girl in a few years, I'm going to tell her all the stories about how he hated love and it's going to embarrass him, and he's going to deny it all.  Then, I'm just going to show the poor girl this post and my brother is going to be majorly embarrassed.  Haha evil big sister moment.

Day 9~ I is for Interrobangs

This:‽, is an interrobang. Yes, it is a real punctuation mark. Sadly, it has fallen out of use. An interrobang is a cross between a question mark and an exclamation point. Instead of saying "WHAT?!?!" You would say WHAT‽ It was invented in 1962. Check out the wiki page here.

Day 7~ G is for Guitars

Most people, when they see someone playing a guitar, it seems like it's so easy, and perfectly normal. Usually if you think such a thing, you most likely have never tried playing a guitar before. Although musicians may make it seem easy, or may say it's easy to play the guitar, but that also depends on their experience level and how often they practice. (Unless of course, your a musical prodigy) I started playing the guitar a few months ago, and it is so hard at first, and is still hard to this day, although more things come with ease, such as the movements, notes and chords. For a beginning guitarist, all I have to say, is it hurts your fingers like crazy, until you develop calluses. I have played the violin for approximately five years, and even though I had calluses from that, it hurt so much. I played for around eight hours a day. It all payed off and now I rarely feel any pain while playing. My father has been playing guitar for over 30 years, and has four Gibson Les Pauls at the moment I think. I have an Epiphone Les Paul (I absolutely love the sound of the Les Pauls since I grew up with them). I named her Lyric :) Mary too has been playing guitar for as long as I have and has a red Fender Stratocaster, who she named Chaz.

Day 6~ F is for Fabulously Freaky!

Hello. My dreams are now haunted by the following. I'd like you to join the club :) Your welcome. *Warning/Disclaimer* The following is can be very disturbing to some people, but is PG so no worries!

The first thing, I found a few weeks ago on instagram. 

Need I explain more about this? ITS SO WEIRD AND FREAKY. I also want to burst out laughing every time I see it. 

The second thing... I hate this so much. It's called "Little Baby's Ice Cream "This is a Special Time" Uploaded by LittleBabysIceCream themselves. Enjoy the clip...

I honestly couldn't sit through the whole minute of it. Way too creepy and disturbing for me. Although I do watch Happy Tree Friends, which is even more disturbing on some levels. I don't know what is off about it... Maybe the eyes, or the fact that that is cannibalism... of ones own body. No joke, this is a legitimate commercial for Little Baby's Ice Cream, which is a real company in Pennsylvania. I wonder what other countries think of the U.S. now when they see this viral video. Yes, viral video. It has over five million views.

Day 5~ E is for Exhausted

Exhausted

The season started today and my team had it's first tournament. I had to wake up at 5:30 in the morning and we played through 3:30. Outside it was freezing cold and the wind was sharp and biting. Me and my team were a little rough around the edges but for our first day out after winter, I'd say we did pretty good. We went 1-2 which means we won one, and lost two, out of three. Tomorrow we will be playing in the silver bracket, and I have to wake up at 5:30 in the morning again. I'm too tired to think of anything else to write right now, so talk to you all later.

Day 3~ C is for Cold!

Lately I've been really annoyed with the weather... It's supposed to be spring, AND IT WAS SNOWING LAST WEEK. Why? I do not wish anything bad about winter (As its my favorite season) but I'm so sick of it. I'm ready to turn in my sweaters and jeans and trade them for my shorts and t-shirts. My parents have been really upset lately saying "Why don't you practice volleyball? You'd be so much better." I'm like, "It's 10 degrees out! Would you practice in below freezing weather?" Once it's spring I can actually get some energy out by riding bikes and hanging out with friends outside, instead of in on technology all day (Which isn't such a bad thing to me) This week, It's finally in the 60's! Thank the lord!

Day 1~ A is for Another Season Starts

Another Season Starts


I'm so exited for my teams first softball tournament this spring. Even if I have to wake up early. When I say early I mean EARLY. Usually the first game is at eight in the morning. To warm up we have to be at the field a hour early, and since my dad is the coach I'm usually there a hour and fifteen minutes early. So if the game is at eight then I would have to be there at approximately 6:45AM. Also, to get ready in the morning I take a hour because I always fall back asleep when I wake up,  so that means that I have to wake up at about 5:30 in the morning. That is so early for me because I usually wake up at 10AM on weekends.
In a later post I will tell you how my team placed.  Sorry that this post was so short, I was super busy yesterday. My next post will be longer I promise!
